Chiara Consonni Takes Trofee Maarten Wynants

Abu Dhabi – UAE, 9^th of May 2023: UAE’s women’s professional cycling team, UAE Team ADQ, has achieved outstanding success in both Belgium and Spain on Sunday 7^th of May.

At the Trofee Maarten Wynants race in Belgium, Italian Chiara Consonni secured her first victory in the UAE Team ADQ jersey. Her incredible achievement resulted from a perfect team effort, with fellow riders Anna Trevisi, Laura Tomasi, and Lizzie Holden taking seventh, tenth, and twelfth places, respectively. Notably, UAE Development Team’s Lara Gillespie and Francesca Pellegrini also played a vital role in this historic win.

UAE Team ADQ has made a remarkable achievement in professional cycling by being recognised as the best team of the day and the best team of the race at La Vuelta Femenina in Spain. This is an exciting development for UAE’s growing presence in cycling.

Erica Magnaldi, UAE Team ADQ rider, expressed her joy with the result, saying, “I am extremely happy with my performance in La Vuelta Femenina. After my surgery a few months ago, I was unsure how my body would react to such a demanding stage race. However, with the support of my teammates and our excellent teamwork, we managed to achieve an impressive final position. Winning the team classification is a great honour and testament to our hard work.”
