The Italy Film Distribution Fund has been presented at the W Hotel on the Palm The Italian Ministry of Culture with Cinecittà (the city of movies) and ITA Agency established a fund of 1.200.000 euro for 2022 to support the commercial circulation abroad of Italian movies.
Mr Roberto Stabile, Head Special International Projects of Cinecittà & Head international Department of Anica, has presented the fund in a conference at W Hotel on the Palm.
The conference was attended by international distributors and professionals, UAE based bloggers and media. Mr Stabile illustrated the way to access the fund to the present UAE and Gulf based companies. The love for Italian classic movies has been always on within the cine-enthusiastic but there is a urge to spread awareness to the contemporary Italian productions for which often the language barriers didn’t helped.
The eligible films for the call are features film or fiction, documentary or animation primarily destined to the theatrical release, 100% Italian movies or Italian majority co-productions. Who can apply are foreign domestic independent distribution companies, whose main activity is film theatrical distribution at the following conditions: for feature and animation films are required at least 6 screenings a week, for documentaries at least 3 screenings per week. The fund covers up to 30% of the costs with a maximum of 30.000€.
