Dubai, United Arab Emirates – May 16, 2022 – CABSAT 2022, the Middle East’s largest event for global creative, broadcast, and satellite communities begins a three-day run at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) tomorrow (May 17) against a background of transformative sector disruption brought on by increasing competition and massively shifting consumer trends.
The event promises to be a beacon of things to come in broadcast, film and content consumption as international experts convene for an expansive knowledge-sharing programme that features eight conferences probing everything from satellite breakthroughs and next generation content to start-up contenders.
With more than 120 international thought-leaders and speakers delivering 110 hours of conference content as well as over 300 companies exhibiting, the event is expected to attract upwards of 13,000 attendees from across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
CABSAT 2022 conference streams include the Content Congress, Next Up Startup Stage – the new conference stage for media tech startups – Digital Hub, AV Tech, Next Gen Content and dedicated sessions on the African and Saudi markets. All will lift the lid on a range of issues in industries which are undergoing widescale and transformative disruption.
With the broadcast industries facing increasing piracy threats, CABSAT regulars are returning to the event with fresh solutions to ring fence security boundaries. Among them is Switzerland’s NAGRA, the digital TV division of the Kudelski Group, which provides security and multiscreen user experience solutions for the monetisation of digital media.
Elsewhere, the SatExpo Summit has a multi-national line up which includes c-suite decision makers from the USA’s Kosmic Apple; the Global Satellite Operators’ Association; Canada’s Satellite Network Technologies Corporation and C-COM Satellite Systems; the UK’s Inmarsat, Satcoms Innovation Group, SES Networks, ETL Systems, Kratos and GVF as well as Arabsat of Saudia Arabia.
CABSAT 2022 will also feature national pavilions from Bavaria/Germany, France, UK and the USA where show stalwart GatesAir, Inc, a specialist in over-the-air transmission products for radio, television, and digital and content transport products, is looking to launch new products and reactive long-standing relationships following the COVID-19 hiatus.
Majed Al Suwaidi, Managing Director of Dubai Media City, Dubai Studio City and Dubai Production City, said: “For more than twenty years, we have cultivated one of the region’s most impactful and credible media ecosystems that is home to global and local brands and creative talent alike. Dubai’s integrated media clusters are not only where people create cutting-edge content in diverse languages and for diverse audiences, but it is also a comprehensive community transforming MENA’s media landscape overall. Events like CABSAT are integral to bringing together this extensive community to exchange knowledge, expertise and insights and advance the industry on a global scale. The calibre of thought leaders it attracts has earned the exhibition its reputation as the region’s largest event of its kind and provides an ideal platform to showcase the impact and originality of our stakeholders to larger audiences. We are delighted to be strategic partners at this latest edition to explore the future of the industry and uphold Dubai’s title as the capital of Arab Media.”
