Permanent Committee Of Labour Affairs Organised Celebration For Labourers To Mark The Labour Day 

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 07 MAY 2022: To mark the occasion of ‘Labour Day’, The Permanent Committee of Labour Affairs organised celebrations for labourers at the labour camp ground in Al Quoz, Dubai.

The Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs, as its annual event, celebrates the International Labor Day to those participating and members of the labor sector. For this reason, His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair bin Suroor, Deputy Director-General of the General Administration of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Labor Affairs in Dubai, confirmed that the State of The UAE places the workers’ file at the top of its agenda and pays great attention to the rights of these groups by providing them with all the requirements for a decent life and taking care of all their health, psychological and social affairs.

HE Major General said that the UAE has provided a global model in the field of care and protection for workers during the Covid-19 pandemic, according to the vision of the Government of Dubai, which seeks to make the emirate the best place to work in the world.

He pointed out that workers are a major focus of the economy and partners in urban development, and our participation with them on this day, Saturday 7-5-2022, is to be with them in everything related to them and share the joy of Eid and the labor day and connect with each other, as we mentioned, they are an important part of the society in which We apply Dubai government policy in this regard.The Permanent Committee of Labor Affairs is amongst the Country’s leading governmental organizations aiming at overseeing and improving the wellbeing of the hardworking individuals in the labour sector. 

During Ramadan PCLA has been delivering Iftar meal packets to the labourers. The labourers received vegetarian or non-vegetarian food based on their requirements, these Labourers of various nationalities, including Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Filipinos, Egyptians, African etc., have been receiving Iftar meals every day from PCLA.

During Eid, the PCLA provided the labouerers with various food items and gifts to chime in the wondrous holiday. To comply with the guidelines of UAE government, PCLA is ensuring the highest level of cleanliness while preparing & delivering the Eid food & gifts to the labourers. To achieve this, PCLA has taken strides to ensure hygienic and safe methods of delivering the goods.

“Providing food to the needy is one of the main focus of PCLA’s humanitarian activities. So, we decided to help labourer affected by the present circumstances” said, Abdullah Lashkari.

PCLA has also been distributing hygiene kits consisting of sanitisers, masks, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush, etc. to the labourers.

His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General Of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Permanent Committee Of Labour Affairs attended the event and encouraged the morale of the labourers.  

There was a ceremony of presenting the certificates of appreciation to different sectors to encourage departments & people to participate in activities for labourers in UAE.

The unity of all sectors displays the multitude of the efficiency and hardwork and talent of the labourers and their managers.

His Excellency Major General Obaid Muhair Bin Suroor, Deputy Director General Of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Permanent Committee Of Labour Affairs said, “labourers are the backbone of any nation, they work tirelessly. Their efforts improve our lives on a daily basis and have been the cause of the prosperous development of this beautiful nation”.Laborer’s enjoyed a great time with the entertainment program of music & dance to Josh Shayari with poet & participated in one on one interaction sessions with various officers. labourers were able to watch cultural dances from their home countries, uniting this event and this nation as an international hub with such beautiful diversity. Various department of government like Dubai Police, Dubai Municipality, Civil defense, Charity organizations, corporate organisations, individuals & media were given the appreciation certificate for their continues support in participating activities with laborers. Engaging the labourers with jokes and shows to teach them and show them our appreciation was one of the highlights of the day, but seeing their smiles and their enjoyment brought the entire event together.

In addition to the entertainment, the labourers were provided with gifts by PCLA. The gifts included items of personal hygiene including mouth wash, toiletries, cloths, umbrellas etc. These gifts not only symbolize the usefulness to the workers, but the care and effort put into their lives, how the Dubai Government and PCLA place such high regard and admiration in the hands of the labourures.

Following the regalement, the labourers were treated with an assortment of food, sweets, cakes, ice creams etc. given by the PCLA. With full stomachs and lifted hearts the event was a pinnacle of human connecting bringing together people from all walks of life to be united in the wonderous day in honor of the labourersMr. Abdullah Lashkari Mohammad – Secretary General of PCLA said, “”We feel privileged, as it is our duty, to help our labourer brothers and sisters in whatever way possible from us. We, at PCLA, feel strongly for the welfare of the labourers as they are away from their families.  These labourers are a very important part of our society, that is why we have so many initiatives to help them. We become not just their colleagues but also their friends, this connection and bond helps us work together harmoniously to build a better future”

This is among one of the various successful and amazing events held by the PCLA, with a myriad of events hosted and organized.
