Al Wathba National Insurance (AWNIC) Launches a Unique, Digital Pet Insurance Product

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, 21 January, 2022 – Al Wathba National Insurance (AWNIC) announces the launch of Pet Insurance in the United Arab Emirates, covering a range of contingencies from vet bills to vaccinations. Being one of the very few providers to offer this insurance product, AWNIC designed their Pet Insurance product to include a wide network of veterinary clinics, value added benefits, and essential coverage for your pets.

Covering everything from accidental death, illness, vets’ bills, vaccinations and medical expenses (up to AED50,000), Pet Insurance can be purchased online in less than two minutes, with premiums starting from as little as AED 2 per day.

Offering complete flexibility to pet owners in the UAE, AWNIC’s Pet Insurance will be offered from 20 January 2022 and is available across four categories: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

The new insurance product has been launched in partnership with Royal Trust Technologies, a fintech start-up in digital insurance technology solutions and services.

“We are excited to extend our support to pet owners by launching this new category to our valued customer base in the UAE. As we constantly strive to innovate in the market and follow a holistic approach in our services, this latest addition cements value-added strategy. We are one of the few providers offering this unique service, and with four distinct categories to choose from and a simple online purchasing experience, we are again providing flexibility, choice and convenience,” said Mr. Bassam Chilmeran, AWNIC’s Chief Executive Officer.

We are very excited about our partnership with Al Wathba Insurance to develop a unique pet insurance digital platform. We are joining forces to launch both an innovative insurance product that has long been expected by pet parents in UAE and a unique API-driven and seamless digital customer journey,” said Matthieu Etourneau Co-founder & CEO of Royal Technologies Limited.

“Pet parents today are underserved. Our partnership with Al Wathba Insurance brings to the market a healthy disruptive approach with a state-of-the-art technology new to this region. Including the opportunity to finally be part of a community, through our carefully selected pet related services offers and discounts. With our pet insurance plan, pet parents automatically become members of the Royal Trust membership Program,” – said Talal Al Garem, Founder and Chairman of Royal Technologies Limited.

The launch of pet insurance follows the recent announcement of AWNIC’s ‘Innovation of the Year’ awarded in 2021, marking another significant step in the insurer’s journey.
