Tashkeel’s summer group exhibition
Made in Tashkeel back after year-long hiatus
The 11th edition opens on13 Julywith a showcase of over 65 works by
more than 40 UAE-based artists from 20 countries
Dubai, UAE – 11July2021 | Tashkeel’s group exhibition returns this summer with works that will give visitors a glimpse of the depth and diversity of the country’s visual arts practice, from 13 July until 7 September.
The 11th edition of ‘Made in Tashkeel’ will feature over 65 works by more than 40 artists who have been Tashkeel members, workshop participants, instructors and exhibitors over the last two years. The exhibitionwill present diverse array of works spanning a wide range of disciplines, including photography, mixed media, acrylic, textile, screenprinting, sculpture, video, installation and calligraphy. Many of the works on display are available for sale and were created at Tashkeel’s fully-equippedprintmaking, digital printing, fine art and private studios.
Participants come from more than 20 countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Yemen, Belgium, Japan, India, Syria, Palestine, Lebanon, UK, Zambia and the USA. Emirati artists presenting their works this year include Abdulla Lutfi, Eman Al Hashemi, Noura Alserkal, Khalid Mezaina, and Badr Abaas .
“After the turbulence of 2020 where we were obliged to forgoour annual summer showcase, the 2021 edition of Made in Tashkeel is more important than ever. Celebrating the breadth and depth of contemporary creative practice by UAE-based artists and designers, we are delighted to present an array of innovative and imaginative works executed with extremetechnical skill and acumen. The exhibition also highlights the importance of providing art and design professionals access to specialist equipment, space and support, which Tashkeel does year-round across its two locations,” says Lisa Ball-Lechgar, the deputy director of Tashkeel.
Visitors will be able to book a guided tour or a private visit to see the exhibition, and a digital catalogue will be made available. Workshops in linocut, screenprinting and risograph for adults will be offered alongside the exhibition.

‘Made in Tashkeel’ will run at the gallery in Tashkeel Nad Al Sheba 1, Dubai from 13 July to 7 September 2021. The exhibition opens from 10am to 8pm daily, except Fridays& Public Holidays.
