Iftar box distribution campaign part of e-commerce and direct selling major’s regional community and social responsibility initiative

Dubai, June 2, 2021: Asia’s leading e-commerce based direct selling company, QNET, said its Ramadan Iftar food packet distribution programme in Kuwait was a huge success benefitting hundreds in the country.

The Iftar food pack distribution in Kuwait was done under the global CSR programme of QNET, a statement from the company said.

Commenting on the Ramadan initiative, MalouCaluza, Chief Executive Officer of QNET, said: “We wanted to do what little we could to join the pious in the Holy Month of Ramadan in Kuwait. Moreover, the Ramadan roll out also was our endeavour to help members of the community at a time of a pandemic-led economic fallout.”

The  e-commerce powered direct selling company QNET, which has customers and distributors in many countries marked the month of Ramadan by joining hands with employees, its network of distributors, and local charitable organisations in 30 countries, to help communities that bear the brunt of lockdown.

In Kuwait, QNET distributed food material boxes across different areas in Kuwait like Salmiya, Hawally, Maidan Hawally, Farwaniya, Khaitan, and Ahmadi.

The heart-warming initiatives allowed us to share the spirit of Ramadan with hundreds of people from vulnerable backgrounds and with several communities in need. The activities done by our everyday heroes – our IRs and saw us touch hundreds of lives with a simple act of love and charity, QNET said in its statement.

Across the  region, the QNET food box distribution spanned 10 markets – Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, KSA, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq and Pakistan.

The distribution was done in partnership with local NGOs, public and private sector entities. In the UAE, QNET joined the 100 Million Meals initiative by the UAE Government, while in Morocco, the initiative was done in association with the Moroccan Association of Solidarity (AMS), in Algeria, as part of the “Nass El Khir” national Initiative.

QNET said that for most people around the world, important festivals and special days that usually bring family and friends together, have looked very different this past year. Many parts of the world are still reeling from the impact of Covid-19, some in their second or third wave, and restrictions continue to remain in place to prevent the spread of the virus.

QNET arranged food kits, cleaning supplies, groceries, and other household essentials to underserved families and organisations in countries in the Middle East, North and Sub Saharan Africa, and the Asia Pacific region throughout the Holy month. These include countries such as Kazakhstan, Turkey, Ghana, Senegal, Tanzania, Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and more.

“We started the Ramadan initiative as a pledge to lead the change that we want to see in the world. We have plans to expand our reach, double our efforts, and give back to more communities in the next year. We hope that by staying true to the spirit of RYTHM and continuously giving back to those in need, we can make a lasting, positive impact in the hearts of many,” Caluza added.
