Introducing L’Artisan Parfumeur, a fragrance brand of connoisseurs paying tribute to nature

L’Artisan Parfumeur began with a joke, when Jean Laporte, the founder, was challenged to create a matching perfume for the banana costume a friend planned to wear at a Folies Bergère masquerade ball. A banana perfume may have been an unusual request for this trained chemist, but it appealed to his passion for plants, and so he created his first fragrance inspired by the treasures of nature.

This event sparked Jean Laporte’s vision for a perfume house honouring the beauty and integrity of each ingredient, and the desire to offer customers the most personalised experience possible, transforming the purchase of perfume into an intimate olfactory occasion. Thanks to a banana, Mr. Laporte became the pioneer of what is now known as “niche perfumery”. He experimented and created original scents with “natural essences”. With the success of his first line of fragrances, Jean Laporte was named L’Artisan Parfumeur – the craftsman of fragrance – by perfume enthusiasts.

L’Artisan Parfumeur has since collaborated with more than twenty-six perfumers – allowing them to experiment and depict with complete freedom their own interpretation of nature. Each fragrance embodies their boldness and artistic vision.

An ode to nature, the brand is meticulously reinventing precious ingredients.
