Tashkeel announces engaging new workshops for spring season
Dubai-based multidisciplinary art and design studio to run small group adult and youth workshops
Dubai, UAE – 14 February 2021 | Tashkeel is inviting residents to participate in a range of imaginative and fresh spring workshops that will allow them to connect with nature, strengthen critical thinking and self-awareness, and relieve stress.
The limited-capacity workshops have been designed to inspire the community to continue their creative pursuits even as they face uncertainties and anxiety due to the pandemic. Workshops and events will be conducted according to physical distancing rules, and health and safety guidelines issued by the Dubai Government.
“Our ‘normal’ has been disrupted due to the pandemic and that has affected our mental and physical wellbeing. It has become more important now to explore creative avenues for expression, growth, healing and self-discovery. Our Spring Season workshops and talks for adults will allow them to engage with a community of like-minded creatives and develop new skills and innovative thinking,” says Lisa Ball-Lechgar, the deputy director of Tashkeel.
Tashkeel is also running its Afterschool Arts Club for ages 8-12 years every Tuesday from 4-6pm until 9 March, and the Tashkeel Spring Camp from 28 March to 1 April.
“Many children are currently dealing with feelings of anxiety, isolation and boredom. A report from UNICEF highlights how young people cut off from support are at greater risk of lasting psychological effects. By having an outlet to express what they feel inside in a productive way can lead to a sense of accomplishment. At a time of restricted social interaction and playtime with friends, art represents a powerful tool for providing a sense of stability.”
Tashkeel’s Spring Season 2021 runs until 30 April. Please see attached document and visit www.tashkeel.org for the full schedule.
Tashkeel is based in Nad Al Sheba 1, Dubai and is open from 10am to 10pm daily, except Fridays. For more information, visit tashkeel.org, email email@example.com or call +971 4 336 3313.
*The studio follows health and safety guidelines issued by the Dubai Government. As such, all workshops and events are socially-distanced and capacities are limited. All visitors to Tashkeel are required to wear masks and use the sanitizer stations available across the building
