Mastercard and Sign Strategic Partnership to Give Consumers Exclusive Access to Value-Added Benefits

  • Prime Day deals going live on October 13th  and 14th  

Dubai, UAE, October 12th 2020 – Mastercard, a global technology leader and have announced a strategic partnership to offer customers exclusive access to the ultimate shopping experience, value-added benefits and online savings.  

As evolving consumer needs drive an accelerated shift to digital, e-commerce continues to grow based on the safety, variety and convenience it offers. In a proprietary study completed in July this year, Mastercard consumer sentiment data revealed that 54% of UAE consumers believe the preference of e-commerce over in-store shopping is a trend that is here to stay. It is imperative to create the right infrastructure and partner ecosystem speaking to today’s digitally savvy consumer.

This partnership will see the rollout of consumer centric initiatives designed to meet the consumers’ evolving shopping needs. Customers who sign up for and use their Mastercard Platinum, World and World Elite Mastercard debit and credit cards issued by banks in the UAE, will receive a complimentary annual Amazon Prime membership.

In addition to that, Mastercard has partnered with for Amazon’s annual Prime Day in the UAE, a two-day shopping event that provides Prime members on with incredible savings and deep discounts with thousands of deals on everything they need and love, including the most popular, beloved brands and must-have items across every category from toys, electronics, fashion, Amazon devices and more. Mastercard and are offering UAE consumers who are Amazon Prime members, 20% cashback in the form of an gift card during Prime Day on October 13-14, when they pay with Mastercard

Participating banks will provide qualifying cardholders with access to the redemption link, which will enable them to activate the benefit. In addition to shopping benefits and exclusive deals, including Free and Fast Delivery with One-Day Delivery on Prime products. Prime members also enjoy free delivery on millions of products available from Amazon US for over AED100, and the chance to enjoy unlimited access to Prime Video, where members can stream or download thousands of award-winning movies and TV series.

Alongside recognition of the rise in e-commerce, Mastercard is also committed to the security of consumers and merchants alike, through its advanced tokenization technology, ensuring that as consumers go online, they also remain safe. Previously announced in June, globally, Amazon has started using Mastercard tokens for transactions to provide a seamless online shopping experience for their consumers.
