We are dedicated to helping the blind and visually impaired prevent avoidable blindness; and make eye care available to more people around the world. Our aim is to enable 10 million beneficiaries to have access to eye care by 2020.
The Reach Campaign is an initiative to end river blindness. Over 200 million people worldwide require treatment for this disease, which is one of the leading causes for preventable blindness. This disease is transmitted by black flies. It causes severe itching, disfiguring skin and if left untreated can cause irreversible blindness. Like many neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), river blindness disproportionally affects the world’s most vulnerable people, trapping their families in cycles of poverty. Proceeds of the campaign will go to Reaching the Last Mile Fund (RLMF). Administered by the END Fund, FLMF delivers prevention and treatment across 7 countries in Africa & the Middle East.
