Bestselling author signs copies of The Future of the Mind on the Sharjah WBC Platform at International Government Communication Forum

Sharjah, 07 March, 2020:
The Sharjah World Book Capital Office (SWBCO) presented a series of activities at the ninth edition of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) to foster knowledge and reading, and promote cultural enrichment.

Prominent amongst these activities held at the Sharjah World Book Capital Platform was a book signing session with globally renowned non-fiction author, Professor Michio Kaku.

The author signed copies of his 2014 book, The Future of the Mind: The Scientific Quest to Understand, Enhance and Empower the Mind at the SWBCO stand at IGCF. The book is an extraordinary, mind-boggling exploration of the frontiers of neuroscience and brings a topic that once belonged solely to the province of science fiction into a startling new reality.

Fifty copies of The Future of the Mind were signed at the book signing session on March 4.

Theoretical physicist and futurist, Professor Michio Kaku is a best-selling author who has popularised science through his television programmes on BBC, The Discovery Channel, and History Channel, amongst others, in addition to his international bestsellers such as Physics of the Impossible and Physics of the Future.

Professor Kaku writes regularly for major publications such as Time, Wall Street Journal, Discover Magazine, New Scientist Magazine, Astronomy and Wired.

In its other activities, SWBCO used its presence at IGCF 2020 to highlight the projects and initiatives that were undertaken since the UNESCO recognition in April 2019. Through detailed presentations, visitors also learnt more about the Sharjah entities and their local and international partners and how they are empowering the local community and developing the publishing sector through reading and knowledge.
