The Movement of Art

On Feb 15th 2020, The Movement of Art, curated by the illustrious Peter Gressman was held at the ‘Artist Playground by Pullman’ organised expertly by Vanessa Chinopoulou and team.

Tanya Ashraf, Ajman based artist and Creative Director of the fashion label ROXX launched her Fashion in Optical Art collection at the event.

Having started her career as a fashion model, she has experience in the art and fashion industry and fulfilled her dream of creating clothes which are like wearable pieces of art by starting her own fashion brand, ROXX in 2006.

The creation is about creating illusions on fluid fabrics. Bold, geometric lines criss-crossing in neon colors, highlighted by Roxx’s signature quirky elements and a hint of textual print.

Famous Artists showcasing at the exhibition were Sultana Kazim, Michael Arnold, Bharat Thakur, Ahmed Rukni, Suranga Navarathne, Sumit Mehndiratta, Rabáh El Aawar and Eashan Dasgupta.

His Excellency Suhail Mohammed Al Zarooni graced the occasion with his presence, His Excellency Francesco Alonso former ambassador of Mexico and Inder Bhagnani director of RK property and founder of Feed a Labor were also present.

Other noted personalities included celebrity stylist, former TV presenter and fashionista – Derek Khan, Manju Ramanan – Celebrity interviewer and Editor of filmfare ME, Dr. Houda Oueslati – Art curator /cultural project and self-taught Artist Nada Al Barazi.

The clothes were flawlessly carried by Esquire’s ‘Best Dressed’ 2019, photographer, Fashion Guy – Luca Lombardi, Ajay Ramchandani of AJR events, Dana Al Ansari – ROXX Kids model, Dubai Artist Muza, artist Margarita, Model Lydiah G, model  Kawtar Taalaoui and Rochelle Bernardo.
