Middle East Artificial Lift Forum to kick start in Oman this week
Oman, UAE – 6, December 2019: Under the patronage of H.E / Eng Salim Bin Nasser Al Aufi – Undersecretary of Ministry of Oil & Gas – Oman the 9th Middle East Artificial Lift Forum is going to be held from 11th to 12th of December 2019 at Grand Millennium Hotel, Muscat, Oman.
The Middle East Artificial Lift Forum (MEALF) is a major event that focuses on the increasing use of artificial lift technologies in oil production operations throughout the Middle East region. The three-day MEALF event is organised by a technical committee, which is made up of artificial lift experts representing operators, technology suppliers and manufacturers.
The global oil consumption market has witnessed rapid growth in the last couple of decades to potential growth in the industrial and transportation sector. To meet such a high demand of hydrocarbon, many operators around the globe incessantly drilling to maximize their production. The artificial lift system is one of the established and mature technology that helps in assisting oil wells to boost reservoir pressure. Around 85-90% of wells need artificial lift assistance to supplement reservoir pressure.
Ms. Atika Said Ali Bimani, PDO & Shell Global ESP-Subject Matter Expert (ESP-SME) said “The forum is established for the purpose of creating a platform to effectively encourage the use of Artificial Lift technologies in the oil industry. It endeavours to provide the best technical solutions while creating a worldwide knowledge sharing and best practice centre to meet the future needs of the industry. Expecting an audience of over 400 industry professionals, the three-day event will focus on the increasing use of artificial lift technologies in oil production operations throughout the Middle East region.”
A pre-conference training workshop will be held on the 10th of December 2019 which will focus on practical exercises and best practice / new-tech cases in an interactive setting and cover topics like Artificial Lift Solutions for the Life of the Well, ESP Teardown & Root Cause Failure Analysis, PCM – PCP Training Course Description, Sucker Rod Pumping Technology, Problems Analysis and Solution. The main conference will consist of presentations, discussions and paper sessions. In addition to the presentation of technical papers, MEALF 2019 will also feature an exhibition at the side-lines of the forum. The exhibition will showcase all the equipment, technologies and services related to artificial lift operations.
To enhance the youth involvement a “Student Paper Contest” is also organised to provide opportunities for young talents to present their papers at “Future Artificial Lift Innovators” session. The committee will nominate 3 papers and the best paper will also be awarded. Moreover, students will be expected to receive support from international and regional companies with regards to further sharping their skill sets and receiving counselling for future opportunities.
Keeping up with the past tradition, the tenth edition of MEALF will also work towards the ‘Green Event’ initiative where the use of paper is discouraged throughout the duration of the forum.
