TOM’s MOTHER :

“She was one of the founders of Molton Brown cosmetics. A newly trained chemist, she was asked by Molton Brown (which was originally a hair salon in London) to make a range of cosmetics for them. In those early days she was making all their products herself, by hand, above the salon on South Molton Street. She stayed at Molton Brown for 30+ years as Creative Director, always in charge of developing new product. During this time she started working with Jacques Chabert, an independent perfumer based in Grasse, France. They worked together on many of Molton Brown’s best-selling shower gels. Becoming family friends with the Chaberts’, I met them from a young age and travelled down to their lab in Grasse. So it wasn’t just that I saw and smelled first hand the joy of making fragrances, in the Chaberts’ I had a family of perfumers (Jacques’ daughters Elsa and Carla are perfumers too now) I knew I wanted to work with.”
