KARL LAGERFELD INTRODUCES “THE EDIT BY CARINE ROITFELD” CAPSULE COLLECTION

The fashion visionary and in-house Style Advisor has curated her essential looks from KARL LAGERFELD’s Fall 2019 collection.

PARIS, FRANCE (September 5th, 2019) – KARL LAGERFELD is pleased to announce the launch of THE EDIT BY CARINE ROITFELD in September 2019. Curated by Roitfeld—fashion visionary and Style Advisor of the KARL LAGERFELD brand—THE EDIT features her essential styles for sophisticated, everyday dressing and effortless travel. Through her discerning eye she selects pieces that result in easy packing and versatile outfits. THE EDIT BY CARINE ROITFELD will be available from September 5, 2019, at KARL LAGERFELD stores, online at KARL.COM and through a global network of premium wholesale partners.

“My idea for THE EDIT was to pick styles that can easily fit into a trolley; when you travel as frequently as I do, the less you want to bring with you,” explains Roitfeld. “There’s everything you need for a week away: a day look, an evening look, shoes and great coats. Everything can be mixed-and-matched into chic, elegant combinations.”

THE EDIT includes 18 styles of ready-to-wear and accessories. Reflecting Roitfeld’s own wardrobe, the pieces are rooted in a palette of black and white, paired with unexpected pops of metallic silver. For everyday wear, she selected a metallic merino wool-blend logo sweater, black satin jogger pants with eyelets on the sides, and girlfriend fit jeans with a stripe logo print. For dressier occasions there’s a crepe jersey dress, a sparkling silver turtleneck with an open V on the back, plus a striking leopard print jacquard blouse.

Outwear includes a menswear-inspired check coat, a cotton twill trench coat, and a hooded faux fur jacket with an allover logo stripe. There’s also a classic black punto blazer, which is accompanied by a matching miniskirt and cropped trousers; all three pieces are ideal for travel, as the fabric does not wrinkle. The ultimate statement outfit is a metallic silver-coated miniskirt and matching hoodie with a debossed Rue St-Guillaume logo. For the next getaway, her entire edit can be packed into her favorite bags: the Rue St-Guillaume suitcase and weekender, with the new K/Ikonik handbag silhouette.

Following THE EDIT BY CARINE ROITFELD, the collaboration between Roitfeld and the Maison KARL LAGERFELD will continue in November with the launch of KARL ACCORDING TO CARINE. This capsule of ready-to-wear and accessories, which she has co-designed, fuses KARL’s signature style codes with Roitfeld’s own aesthetic.
