COLORS KA SARTAJ SEASON 2 COMES TO A SMASHING FINALE

The Grand finale was judged by Javed Jaffrey and witnessed a participation of over 600 contestants from across 60 labour camps in the UAE

United Arab Emirates, 13 July 2019: The winners of the second edition of Colors Ka Sartaj – a talent hunt for the blue-collar workforce in the UAE were announced in a glittering ceremony last evening (Friday 12th July) in Dubai. The grand finale held at the DULSCO Village Arena in Al Quoz, saw top 15 participants compete for the coveted title of “Colors Ka Sartaj”.

The unique talent hunt that caters specifically to the labour workforce in the UAE tests their talents in categories ranging from music, dance, singing, acting, stand-up comedy and mimicry among others.  The competition started with two rounds of auditions held in June 2019, post which the finalists were selected to compete in the grand finale that concluded last evening.

This year, Mohammed Shahid from Bihar, India, won the prestigious title and was rewarded with a cash prize of AED10,000.  He won the hearts of the judges and the audience with his amazing singing performance featuring the hit Salman Khan single Lagan Lagan Lag Gai Hai. Rodel Francisco, a talented artist from Philippines, took the first runner up prize comprising AED5,000 for his mesmerising performance and got the audience grooving to the hit Bollywood number Tum Hi Ho towards the end. Kamal Rai from Nepal grabbed the second runner up spot for his dance performance that depicted the struggle of a labour worker in the UAE and the hardships they face on the job every day.  He was awarded with a cash prize of AED2,000.

Launched by IndiaCast in 2018, Colors Ka Sartaj season two saw an overwhelming participation from over 600 labour workers from over 60 labour camps across the country. Popular Bollywood actor Javed Jaffrey judged the participants in the grand finale.

Colors Ka Sartaj is a unique talent discovery platform that aims to reward the hidden talents across the UAE.  The competition provided an opportunity to thousands of labour workers to showcase their talent in varied creative fields.  Many participants will be using this as a starting point to pursue their talent aggressively and passionately which was otherwise lost amid their hectic work-life schedule in the country.
