THE RITZ-CARLTON, DUBAI
Bringing more than two decades of experience, the new GM will lead all strategic operations for the beachfront resort
Dubai, United Arab Emirates – 19 November 2018 –The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai has welcomed Jeroen Elmendorp as the new General Manager of the legendary beachfront resort which this year celebrates 20 years of excellence.
With experience spanning three continents, Dutch national Jeroen brings more than two decades of expertise in leading luxury resorts and residences. As a highly experienced and dynamic business leader, he will direct all strategic operations for the property, elevating the already exceptional guest experiences throughout the iconic hotel, driving proactive sales and marketing initiatives and reinvigorating the reputation of the property as one of Dubai’s leading destination hotels and the gateway introduction to The Ritz-Carlton brand within the UAE.
Jeroen’s career within the hospitality industry commenced more than 20 years ago, following his graduation from the Hoger Technisch Instituut, Bruges, Belgium. He began his journey with Conrad Hotels & Resorts before embarking on a global path spanning Europe, the USA and the UAE with tenures in award-winning properties and senior management roles. Jeroen’s progressive journey began when he joined Le Meridien Chicago in 2001 and climbed his way up to Director of Operations as part of the pre-opening team, after which he joined Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago in 2007.
In 2010 Jeroen moved to the Middle East, joining Emaar Hospitality Group’s hotel portfolio where he held various roles, including Hotel Manager at Palace Downtown, General Manager at The Address Dubai Marina, and most recently worked on task force as the pre-opening General Manager alongside senior leaders for the launch of Emaar Group’s Al Alamein Hotel in Egypt. Prior to this he played a senior role at St. Regis, Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi where he was responsible for the successful opening of the rooms division and residences for the first St. Regis hotel in the Middle East.
As a business leader, with an MBA from Hult International Business School and Strategic Marketing and Hospitality Management credentials from Cornell University, Jeroen has a passion for the hotel industry and delivering the highest guest service standards whilst focusing on distinctive quality and exceptional service delivery.
