Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 19 November 2018: IKEA, the region’s favorite Swedish home-furnishing retailer, is celebrating international Espresso Day on the 23rd of November by offering free shots of its signature and sustainable espresso brand to shoppers at the IKEA Café in the Dubai Festival City Mall and the IKEA Restaurant in the Abu Dhabi Store. Shoppers will have the opportunity to taste the aromatic PÅTÅR espresso, a rich and intense dark coffee with notes of sweet fruits and cocoa beans from 10:00am to 12:00am (midnight) in Dubai and from 10:00am to 11:00pm in Abu Dhabi.
The PÅTÅR coffees, which are UTZ-certified and produced with organic farming standards, are traceable all the way back to the plantations they come from.
By choosing UTZ-certified and organic coffee, IKEA is supporting small-scale coffee producers in regions such as Central and South America, where 100% Arabica beans used for the range are handpicked for optimum quality. UTZ-certified organic coffee is produced minimizing the use of synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, with care for water, soil, air and biodiversity and to provide higher yields and better incomes and living conditions for farmers and other cooperatives.
Shoppers are encouraged to look out for the UTZ logo on IKEA’s coffee, tea and cocoa products. UTZ-certified stands for sustainable farming and better opportunities for farmers, their families and our planet. The UTZ program enables farmers to learn better farming methods, improve working conditions and take better care of their children and the environment. Through the UTZ-program farmers grow better crops, generate more income and create better opportunities, while safeguarding the environment and securing the earth’s natural resources.
