Bold styles and unique designs attract visitors to the Italian pavilion at VOD Dubai
Dubai, UAE; November 17, 2018: Classic, contemporary and modern jewellery designs on display at the Italian pavilion at VOD Dubai represent the themes of traditional ways of jewellery making, blend of luxury and creativity, and the potential of technology to create masterpieces.
According to Gianpaolo Bruno, Trade Commissioner to the UAE, Oman and Pakistan at the Italian Trade Agency: “This year’s Italian pavilion is a success with a good representation of Italy’s jewellery industry, with new creative designs, more traditional solid-gold fare, a wide range of jewellery pieces incorporating tanzanite, rubies, other precious stones and silver jewellery. Big, bold pieces were prevalent as well as a multitude of colour in many of the designs. ‘Made in Italy’ jewellery is the result of excellent manufacturing skills and strong heritage. At this year’s pavilion we also focused on how art and technology can combine to create beautiful jewels. Use of modern technology like 3D printing open new avenues of creativity for jewellers. Now they can create anything, imagination is the only limit.”
ITA organized a cocktail reception during the fair which acted as a networking platform for the 28 companies participating at the Italian pavilion to explore new opportunities of growth in the region. The jewellery sector has always been among the sectors that contribute more to the UAE economy. In 2018 the estimated value of the total sales in the sector amount to about AED 11 billion with a growth of 0.7 per cent over the previous year, when the growth rate had been 0.6%.
VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show took place from November14-17, 2018 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
