Later in the day, RAK Diabetes Center will be bringing back its entertaining and colourful annual Live Healthy Fair, packed with fun-filled activities. Commenting on the event, Dr Raza Siddiqui, CEO of Arabian Healthcare Group, the umbrella organisation of RAK Diabetes Center, said: “Given that one in five UAE resident is a pre-diabetic, it’s essential that people get themselves screened regularly. Like any other chronic disease, the earlier we catch it, the higher the chances of better management. As a measure of encouragement to keep tabs on insulin levels, we’re also gifting glucometers to people who come out positive with diabetes during the screening”.

“Similarly, through this activity we want people to focus on the repercussions of diabetes, particularly on eyesight. The diseases is among the number one causes of blindness globally, and people with diabetes are 20 times more likely to experience vision problems. Eye screening will give them better idea on where they stand and what measures they need to take in order to preserve their eyesight,” added Dr Raza Siddiqui.

Dubai’s RAK Diabetes Center, Jumeirah is a one-stop solution for diabetes management. Besides focusing on chronic health problems, the Center has organized several interactive sessions and campaigns to promote physical and mental wellness among the UAE residents.
