Second Edition of ‘THE COLLECTOR’
New and exclusive collections unveiled at unique space in collaboration with the Dubai Design and Fashion Council
Dubai, UAE, November 2018: In support of emerging local talent, Robinsons launches its 2nd edition of THE COLLECTOR, a unique space dedicated exclusively to featured local designer collections. The platform, located on the first floor of the department store and created in partnership with the Dubai Design and Fashion Council, sees collections from two local talents showcasing their ready-to-wear collections, which have been created specifically for Robinsons. This edition of THE COLLECTOR features pieces by Deborah Henning and House of Fatam, showcased for the next three months.
“Robinsons is a space that combines unique and on-trend pieces from some of the best designers and is curated beautifully to create a seamless shopping experience for our clientele. Supporting home-grown, local talent that aims to bring luxury and beauty to the fashion scene is something we are proud to do with initiatives such as THE COLLECTOR,” said Adosh Sharma, General Manager “It provides our clientele with the unique opportunity to discover brands closer to home.”
House of Fatam, a contemporary Emirati label based out of Dubai presents beautiful ethereal fashion which is brought to life through their prints and unique hand embroidery. The Shalimar AW18 collection is inspired by various elements ranging from fairy tales to the city of Dubai. The beauty of every beautifully crafted design is reflected through intricate hand embroidered embellishments to unique prints.
The Deborah Henning label is a beautiful mix of playful and chic androgynous womenswear, which is based on the concept of casual perfection. Harnessing the ‘just out of bed’ look in a subtle and sensual manner whilst keeping a refined and unforced styling attitude.
The Dubai Design and Fashion Council was established in 2013 and aims to raise the profile of Dubai as a regional and global destination for design and a hub for the design industry. As part of the DDFC’s mandate to enable the growth and recognition of designers based in the UAE and the MENA region, while also developing and nurturing a sustainable design industry in Dubai, THE COLLECTOR is a platform that truly encompasses the goals of the council.

About Robinsons Department Store
Founded in 1858 by John Spicer and Philip Robinson, Robinsons Department Store is one of the most iconic retail landmarks in Singapore. Operated by the Dubai, UAE-based Al Futtaim Retail Group since 2008, Robinsons has since become one of the best performing department stores in southeast Asia.
In March 2017, the Al Futtaim Retail Group celebrated the opening of Robinsons Department Store in Dubai Festival City Mall. At 200,000 sq ft, it is the largest department store in the UAE; it is also one of the country’s most unique retail establishments, thanks in part to a stunning green wall of living plants that was created by designer Patrick Blanc as a nod to Robinsons’ Singaporean heritage.
Robinsons has quickly made a name for itself among discerning shoppers, thanks to three floors of covetable offerings. Beauty lovers flock to the Ground floor, which stocks a stunning array of more than 85 skincare, makeup and fragrance brands. Home to many familiar labels such as Alexander Wang and Kate Spade, Robinsons also carries more than 90 exclusive fashion brands, including AAPE and Louis Quatorze. The second floor also offers the UK’s most loved and trusted brand, John Lewis, which can only be found in Robinsons.
A true lifestyle destination, Robinsons has recently opened the Profile Aveda Lifestyle Salon on the First floor, and proudly features three tempting F&B outlets: Big Fernand, Wild & The Moon, and Origami. From fashion and home to wellbeing and dining (and much more in between), Robinsons Department Store in Festival City Mall offers an immersive experience that sets the bar for retail in the Middle East.
