Industry Leaders from UAE, India, Share Experiences and Insights at ICAI’s Extraordinary Leadership Summit
October 2018, Dubai-UAE: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Dubai Chapter, recently held an Extraordinary Leadership Summit in the city.
The event, designed as a platform to share stories of outstanding success across domains such as media, business, finance, technology and entertainment, witnessed both senior industry leaders and young entrepreneurs share their experiences and present their views to a discerning audience.
Chief Guest for the event was H.E. Dr Mansoor Al Awar, Chancellor of Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University. H.E. Shri Vipul, Consul General of India to Dubai, was also present as a special guest. The esteemed guests from India included Rahul Shivshankar, Editor in Chief – Times Now, CA Keki M Mistry, Vice Chairman & CEO – HDFC, Samina Vaziralli, Executive Vice-Chairperson – Cipla, Global Pharma & Biotech Co., Ritesh Agarwal, Founder, Oyo Rooms, Prakash Raj, Film Actor, Director and Producer, Alok Kejriwal, Founder – Games2Win.com, and Simran Deenz Ahuja, Miss India Magnificent Woman Icon 2013 and winner of Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Award 2018.
CA Nurani Subramanian Sunder, Secretary – ICAI, Dubai Chapter NPIO, welcomed the guests, followed by a short introductory session by CA Mahmood Bangara, Chairman of ICAI Dubai Chapter, in the presence of the members of the managing committee of ICAI including CAs Anish Mehta, Nurani Sundar, Dharmajan Patteri, Anurag Chaturvedi, Smruti Mishra, Sangeetha Nahar, Manoj Agarwal and Jai Prakash Agarwal.
In his chairman’s address, CA Mahmood Bangara spoke about the 3000-member strong Dubai chapter of ICAI, which is the largest of the 32 chapters operating outside India. He discussed the changing dynamics of the profession, describing it as that of an ‘Accounting Scientist’ who brings fortune to the entire community. Speaking about the increasing level of digitisation in the accounting field, Bangara said: “The challenge posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) and robotics also shall be overcome. Instead of being intimidated by it, let us adopt and assimilate new technology,” he said, urging the members of ICAI Dubai chapter to work together in making it a dependable professional forum.
