GIIS UAE Introduces ‘Qutuhal’ In line with the UAE’s vision of Innovation

20th October 2018, UAE – In Line with UAE’s vision of Innovation, Global Indian International School, UAE introduces Qutuhal, a Creative, Innovative and Multi-Disciplinary initiative for children of all age groups and schools across UAE.

GIIS has always been a frontrunner in making education as holistic as possible. This programme will offer children an exciting series of workshops, competitions and collaborations to nurture innovation and creativity at a young age.

Qutuhal means “curiosity” in select languages. Aimed to induce curiosity in young minds, the specially designed programme is aimed at parents seeking a more holistic, yet hands on learning system for their children. This will include a series of exciting activities on STEAM, Robotics, IoT, Space Education, AI, virtual reality and other future tech-oriented topics, offering children a vibrant platform to ideate and innovate and most importantly go beyond the capacity of traditional learning.

Apart from series of leadership lectures by industry experts, the programme will also include some very interesting workshops like science experiments in the field of Virtual Reality, that aims to promote immersive learning techniques.

The Invent For Life workshop will facilitate 16 learning hours around IoT and electronics and conduct various design thinking activities. A Drone Challenge that includes 16 hours of drone education and an AI Face and Voice Recognition Challenge will also be a part of Qutuhal. To create a sense of healthy competition, the programme will also have a number of competitions in the months ahead like the upcoming MakeX Starter Challenge, an International robotics challenge. As part of preparing students for this competition, 12 hours of training program including hardware, coding and programming on competition theme “blue planet” will be offered to the children who choose to participate.

Commenting on the launch, Mr Amol Vaidya, Director Operations, GIIS says, “It is necessary to make the children wise about the world around them, especially technology. Majority of us adults are blind consumers. Our children should not be like that. It is a school’s responsibility to provide numerous learning opportunity to the children. We intend to provide those opportunities to make them ready for life as a responsible adult”

The Qutuhal programme is open to children of all age groups and schools in UAE. The classes will be held on all Saturday at the GIIS Campus in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. With Qutuhal, GIIS goes even further to strengthen its efforts towards holistic education in its mission to create global citizens of tomorrow.
