FROM JAPAN TO DUBAI: SPHEERZ OFFICIALLY OPENS DOORS TO CITY
3 October 2018 – Dubai, United Arab Emirates – From the streets of Japan to the heart of Marina Cubes, Mina Rashid, Spheerz, a brand new dining experience that pays tribute to contemporary Japanese cuisine, has officially opened its doors to the city.
With favourites such as takoyaki (ball-shaped Japanese delicacy made of a wheat flour-based batter filled, typically filled with diced octopus), okonomiyaki (savoury pancake) and yakitori (grilled skewers of seafood, meat or vegetables) gracing the menu, Spheerz introduces an authentic dining experience to fans of the cuisine and those who are keen on expanding their taste palette through rare-to-find dishes.
With its humble beginnings in 2016 as a kiosk at Global Village, Spheerz, founded by Ahmed Abdulla Tahnoon, an engineer whose deep-rooted love for Osaka was the forming foundation of the brand, offers a 2-storey dine-in extravaganza with front row seats available to all the action in the kitchen. From flipping the takoyaki in dedicated cookware to grilling a colourful fiesta of seafood, guests are offered dinner with a show.
The Spheerz menu also boasts other Japanese specials such as edamame, gyoza, tempura, donburi rice, yakisoba, mochi ice cream and the Instagrammable taiyaki – a Japanese fish-shaped cake filled with sweet red bean paste.
The restaurant seats 48 with views overlooking the dock, along with prime spots to watch the sun set behind the iconic Queen Elizabeth 2 ship as you dive into a plate of Japan’s best.
