Fall in love with Mother Nature at British Orchard Nursery Spring Camp

Let your children hone their gardening skills, closely observe flora and fauna and develop a sense of empathy with all things green at the Camp

March 15, 2018; Dubai, UAE: This spring, the British Orchard Nursery will plant the love for flora and fauna in the young children attending its upcoming Spring Camp loaded with an exciting array of activities. “Gardening in Spring”, scheduled from March 25th to April 5th, has been designed to help children form a stronger bond with Mother Earth while appreciating the true value of keeping our surroundings green.

Youngsters at the camp will be taught the basics of gardening to hone their gardening skills while learning to nurture plant life and understand its importance in sustaining the ecosystem. They will also be treated to Nature Walks, closely observe the lifecycles of plants and understand the relationship that insects have with plants that help the latter grow better.

Indoor activities will find the children linking the green connection with popular story books, such as Jack and the Beanstalk, where the magical bean will be under spotlight; Peter Rabbit with the focus on carrots, cabbage and lettuce; Bear Hunt where grass and the tiny seeds will be highlighted, and The Princess and the Pea. These references will help children relate to gardening better, while at the same time, they can actually plant these vegetables and watch them grow, making them more real.

Dr Vandana Gandhi, Founder and CEO of British Orchard Nursery said: “Spring is the season to celebrate nature and it is also the best time to initiate young children to outdoor life of gardening. No child is too young to understand the importance of plants and trees in our lives, and how we can contribute towards making our Earth a greener place to live. T

hrough this camp at the British Orchard Nursery, we would like to spark our youngsters’ interest in flora and fauna and hope that they will continue to use the lessons learnt here once the camp gets over. Moreover, this is a great opportunity to inculcate social responsibility in children right from this young age”.
