Abu Dhabi International Airport celebrates the 46th UAE National Day
3rd December, 2017, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) is celebrating the UAE’s 46th National Day this holiday weekend, with a wonderful array of cultural and heritage activities organized for passengers and visitors.
Commenting on this occasion, Abdul Majeed Al Khoori, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Abu Dhabi Airports said: “On behalf of Abu Dhabi Airports, I would like to congratulate His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and all Supreme Council members and Rulers of the UAE, as well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and the UAE people on this joyous occasion. Through these celebrations we re-live the grand achievements over the past 46 years, and we are grateful to be here today and be part of this great legacy, and to demonstrate our pride and loyalty to our nation, leaders, people, and achievements to the world through the capital’s gateway, Abu Dhabi International Airport.”

True loyalty lies in one serving their country in everything he or she can contribute to that will support building and strengthening the UAE. This will in turn embed the spirit of belonging and unity, which is the symbol for this celebration”, added Al Khoori.
All of Abu Dhabi International Airport’s terminals have been branded with the official UAE National Day identity, with national flags and flower bouquets decorating the Immigration, airlines’ check-in, and customer service desks, as well as Duty Free shops. Airport and Duty Free employees are also taking part in spreading the celebration mood by wearing the UAE scarf and distributing coffee, dates and chocolates to passengers and visitors, acquainting them with the essence of the Emirati hospitality.
Passengers traveling through AUH during the National Day holiday have the opportunity to experience the Emirati traditions such as the folklore dancing of Al Aazi and Al Yola. In addition, a heritage space has been set up in Terminal 3 baggage claim hall to include calligraphers, digital caricaturist, falcon display, as well as weavers. Young passengers enjoy traditional children’s games near the play area in Terminal 3. Airport stakeholders joined the celebration by competing in the decorating of the best buggy at the airport, to strengthen the spirit of unity amongst all entities working at the capital’s airport. Visitors and travelers also witnessed a parade that marched outside the airport on the 2nd December, joined by the various entities within the airport community, displaying the UAE flag and the many colors of the UAE life.
Earlier in the month, Abu Dhabi Airports covered one of its Air Traffic control towers with the UAE flag in celebration of the UAE Flag Day.
