The world’s most premium and globally acclaimed OLED TV features an unmatched ultra-slim, “Picture-on-Wall” design

Dubai, UAE, May 24, 2017 — After having recently showcased its flagship LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W at LG InnoFest – the company’s annual marketing conference, LG Electronics (LG) has announced the ultra-premium TV’s rollout in the UAE. LG’s highly anticipated and most innovative Picture-on-Wall design TV enjoys an unrivalled razor-thin profile with less than 3mm of thickness when mounted on the wall. Awarded Best-of-the-Best at CES 2017, LG’s W series is the ultimate expression of cinema-quality experience for the home and is now available to the avid TV consumer of the UAE.
Designed in response to user feedback, the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W is the global leader in innovation and design within the premium TV category, following LG’s “less is more” philosophy, stripping away everything to emphasize the beauty of the screen alone. So thin, that when mounted on a wall, the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W creates an illusion of gazing out a window.
LG OLED televisions including the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W, continue to receive top global ranking. In fact, LG OLED televisions are currently top scored as per world-renowned and highly respected Consumer Reports, an independent non-profit organization with trusted experts that aims to provide consumers with trusted knowledge to make informed decisions ahead of purchases.

According to Consumer Reports’ findings as of April 2017, LG OLED televisions are ranked the first and second place as “Best 4K TVs to Buy Right Now”. In addition to excellent HD picture, UHD performance, and sound, LG’s 2017 OLED televisions received high praise because they support both HDR10 and Dolby Vision HDR formats.
“The LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W is a true masterpiece of our time. We are confident our premium consumers in the UAE will marvel at the experience that this television creates, as it sets the golden standard in the premium television segment. We invite our fervent television consumers to experience the future of TV with LG’s W, the embodiment of LG’s commitment and leadership in the world’s leading OLED technology,” said Mr. Yong Geun Choi, President, LG Electronics Gulf.
The paper-thin, LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W when mounted appears as though it is blending with the wall. It is coupled with a flat cable that connects it to a premium sound bar, which includes the connection ports, and other premium features separate from the screen itself, making the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W design even more poster-style and perfectly minimal.
The LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W has the perfect colour palette thanks to the deepest possible black. LG OLED’s revolutionary pixel dimming control technology is what makes it all possible, which renders perfect black without any light leakage to offer a limitless contrast ratio, with one billion possible colors. What’s more, all LG’s 2017 OLED TVs use ULTRA Luminance technology to deliver greater brightness where needed. And no matter where you sit to look at it, every seat in the TV room gets a clear, vibrant picture without washed-out tones. The unique design of LG OLED TV assures that any view is a great one, not just for those in the centre.
From brilliant brights to deepest darks, users can enjoy the ultimate expression of high dynamic range (HDR). Unlike some other 4K televisions, the W series and all LG 2017 OLED TVs feature Active HDR for displaying next-generation HDR content designed to render brighter scenes and greater shadow detail. Active HDR allows LG TVs to process the picture frame by frame, inserting dynamic data where needed. This technology allows the TV to offer the best picture even if the original HDR content contains static or no metadata at all. And all of LG’s 2017 OLED TVs support the full palette of HDR formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) and are ready to support Advanced HDR by Technicolor technology.
As the first TV in the world to offer Dolby Atmos, 2017 LG OLED TVs can deliver content with both cutting-edge imaging and state-of-the-art sound technologies simultaneously, creating an entertainment powerhouse. Together, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos deliver a comprehensive solution supported by professional content creators and distributors the world over.

Over 80 studio titles are compatible with Dolby Vision and more than 100 titles are currently available for Dolby Atmos, with 25 available in both formats. What’s more, over 100 hours of original content is available in Dolby Vision across leading OTT providers worldwide and soon consumers will have access to Dolby Vision titles on Ultra HD Blu-ray disc, with anticipated availability in 2017.

The LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W is a masterpiece in today’s premium television segment. It is proof of LG’s continued dedication to innovation and leadership in OLED technology. While the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W may not be suitable for everyone’s budget, LG has truly set the golden standard in the ultra-premium television viewing experience.

The LG OLED TV W is available in both 65 and 77-inch models at the LG brand shop in Dubai Mall and all leading power retailers in the UAE including Jumbo electronics in Mall of Emirates, Emax in Yas Mall, Sharaf DG in Time Square Centre and Plugins in Dubai Festival City Centre for AED AED 60,000 ~ AED 90,000.

The Middle East Consultancy Association (MECA) Launches in the UAE Market

The Middle East Consultancy Association (MECA)  Launches in the UAE Market

AED 80 billion regional facility management industry in immediate need of regulation and standardized best practices; say’s company spokesperson

Dubai, United Arab Emirates
The Middle East Consultancy Association (MECA), having launched in the UAE market, now offers the country’s cleaning, hygiene, and facility management industry much needed regulations and standardized best practices. MECA aims to play a prominent role in the region, helping to vitalise the Middle East’s cleaning and hygiene industry expecting to see a grow of 275% by 2020.
The region’s facility management industry, which industry sources estimate to be worth AED 300 billion by 2020, will also benefit from MECA, a first-mover when it comes to being a regulatory and compliance body, here in the region.

MECA’s immediate plans emphasises three crucial sectors that the company states have long been overlooked when it comes to Green Clean programs and sustainability: Education, Health, and Aviation.
“MECA aims to be omnipresent within the UAE’s cleaning, hygiene, and facility management industries. We have done extensive market research, taken intelligence from service providers, owners, and government officials, and the need for a regulatory body is of paramount importance,” commented Ahmad M. Alayan, Chairman and CEO, The Middle East Consultancy Association.

“As the UAE and the region continues to grow, local and regional suppliers, manufacturers, service providers, cleaners, governmental bodies and others within the industry are not all primed to grow with it. This is where MECA plays a prominent role, in helping to provide a platform for the industry to thrive. We mirror global best practices, and local cutting-edge science, benchmarked against the legacy of our primary ally, ISSA, a globally recognised industry pioneer for the past 93 years,” added Alayan.
ISSA is the leading worldwide association for the cleaning industry, and leverages the strength of its global cleaning community to change the way the world views cleaning – increasing the appreciation for cleaning as an investment in human health, the environment and an improved bottom line.

“We look forward to working with MECA to raising the levels of professionalism in the cleaning and Facility Management industry. We could not be prouder to be working with MECA in this important part of the world. So, let us work together to change the way the world views cleaning in the Middle East,” added, John Barrett, Executive Director, ISSA.

“Change is not easy; it takes effort, risk, and collaboration. And the idea of stepping forward, as MECA has done, is the ripple to start the wave in our industry. Doctors are viewed so highly in society because they fix us, but only after we’ve caught something or have a problem. Our industry actually keeps people from having problems or having something. And if we can start to speak about that more often, we can have another ripple, and ultimately change the way the world views cleaning, and this is why we’re excited to be working with MECA to bring world-class education to the region,” added Dianna Steinbach, Director, EMEA Services, ISSA.
Often overlooked and marginalized in the UAE and GCC region, the cleaning and facility management industries, the company states, are in fact crucial life-support systems. MECA aims to alter these outdated and inaccurate perceptions by highlighting their importance, and bringing their vitality to the forefront.
“In the UAE, cleaning is still viewed and run in a non-progressive and outdated manner. The economy has grown exponentially bringing with it remarkable growth to several industries. Taking the construction industry for instance, the number of buildings has increased drastically, along with their size and intricacies, but what concerns us is the way these buildings and facilities are being managed and cleaned. This system has not reformed, or progressed, and this is precisely what MECA plans on changing,” said Alayan.
MECA brings limitless innovation, cutting-edge science, progressive and continuous education, and global best-practices to the local market. Be it through its green clean programs, its diversified trainings, or its high-standard certifications, MECA is adamant to catapult the local industry forward.
In a recent industry event, organised by MECA in Dubai, Toni D’Andrea, CEO of Afidamp, commented that “Cleaning is a key factor in the progress of any civilization or country, and Dubai is a specific example of a country or society that has passed from industry 1.0 to industry 4.0, skipping all the stages in between, and the cleaning industry here should be no different.”
MECA further believes that sustainability nowadays is no longer categorized as optional. Nations worldwide are issuing decrees, hosting summits, and committing to sustainability and green solutions through various approaches. In fact, the Expo 2020 which will take place right here in Dubai is all about sustainability. For these reasons and more, MECA is certain that the industry is not only ‘willing’ to listen to the solutions it brings to the table, but are in fact ‘demanding’ such solution to catch the global curb that the regional industry has clearly been falling behind.

Teenage artist Aamir Kudel visualizes life with his debut solo exhibition in Dubai

Teenage artist Aamir Kudel visualizes life with his debut solo exhibition in Dubai

The seventeen-year-old Indian boy showcases his talent with a series of 13 exquisite works of art titled ‘Visions of Life’

DUBAI – May 24, 2017: Aamir Kudel, a seventeen-year-old Indian artist in Dubai, recently conducted his debut solo exhibition in Dubai with a series of 13 exquisite works of art titled ‘Visions of Life’ painted with oil on canvas.

The star-studded event was held at Marriott Hotel Al Jaddaf, Dubai in the presence of Indian Consul-General in Dubai His Excellency Vipul; Aamir’s parents Mr. Zulfeq Kudel and Mrs. Lasitha Zulfeq, along with his teachers and other dignitaries.

Aamir is a Grade 12 student at the Emirates International School and aspires to be an engineer by profession. Hailing from the Indian state of Kerala, he has won accolades in a number of national and international art competitions.

By passion, the teenage prodigy hopes to create artworks that evoke a sense of warmth on life, nature, culture and people. With the painting series titled ‘Visions of Life’, Aamir envisages the world and life through new dimensions, a plethora of vibrant colors and meticulous attention to detail.

These conceptual works of art express Aamir’s vivid imagination, visions and dreams on the real life. His thoughts and concepts are all life-related, drawn from the real experience of life and inspired by the purity and freshness of ‘mother nature’.

Being an expatriate resident in Dubai, Aamir gets inspired by this amazing city, its culture, the visionary leadership and the incredible transformations whilst preserving nature that he witnessed.

An avid Van Gogh fan, Aamir Kudel believes that to understand life, one must indulge in the creation of art.

Speaking on the exhibition, he said, “This is my dream come true. I am extremely thankful to my parents and my sister for believing in me and backing me up all the way. I am honoured to have the Indian Consul-General in Dubai HE Vipul among others in the exhibition. I am very happy to bring my work to the world and the appreciation has been overwhelming. Through my first collection I have tried to portray different aspects we see every day, be it a passing season, the skyline of our city, and the wildlife among other things.”

Standing in front of one of his works, Aamir says, “I visualize a brighter world and believe in a brighter future to see the world through an array of colours. Art is my passion, and it brings out the best in me. It’s my chosen medium of self-expression; for my thoughts, dreams, experiences and even my deepest fears in a visual manner. Oil on canvas, my music and I find bliss. My work is vibrant and involves a lot of colours.”

The artworks showcased at the event included ‘Dubai though my eyes’ – two works oil and acrylic, ‘A moment of peace’ – two works of acrylic knife painting, ‘Unique’ (mix media), ‘Pride’ (oil), ‘Freedom’ (mix media), ‘Blue Chill’ (oil), ‘Life’ (mix media), ‘Rever’ (oil), ‘Spring’ (acrylic), and ‘Winter’ (acrylic).

Each painting tells a story — ‘Pride’ portrays a horse in action expressing courage, and dedication and loyalty; and ‘Freedom’ shows a wide-eyed eagle, which is ready to soar above the storm and fly to freedom, among others.

The dual works titled ‘Dubai though my eyes’ is portrayed as the pulse of Dubai, and detailed as a mirror of consequence and the proof of a phenomenal accomplishment. “A fog of great toil, rising up in the day, raising the grandeur of the world. The buzz of a worthy opulence, reflecting at night. A tribute to the years of streamlined discipline,” he gets creative.

Aamir becomes philosophical with the artwork titled ‘A moment of peace’: “Amongst the concrete jungle, away from the hustle and bustle of survival struggle, exists a calm space. Relish the divine frame. Have a moment of peace. Take a deep breath,” the caption reads.

Aamir is also a dedicated philanthropist at heart. He is coming up with a project named ‘Aksharam’ in his hometown at Malappuram in Kerala. With this project, this teenager’s plan is to refurbish and establish the English library of a government school, which was also his grandfather’s alma mater.

He is inspired by the UAE’s two great initiatives — the Year of Reading in 2016 and the Year of Giving in 2017. “These programmes were not just inspirational for me; it’s a phenomenon that spurs action across the globe,” Aamir concluded
